Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a sport, its equipment, its formats or the customs around it. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without an agreed brief.
What we are looking for
Strong proposals focus on one clear question and offer a useful angle: an explanation of a rule, a comparison of equipment by purpose, the background to a format, or a fresh way to follow a sport. We welcome subjects that work for readers who may not know the specialist vocabulary.
Make the pitch specific
Tell us the proposed subject, the central idea, why it will interest a general reader and what sources or expertise you would use. Flag any rules, formats or locations that limit the scope. Avoid broad claims, unsupported rankings, promotional copy and pitches whose main purpose is to sell a product or service.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, making clear that your message is a contribution pitch. A proposal is not a promise of publication. Please do not include confidential information or assume that a submission will be returned.
